GOD is at work...

one of the great thing about patience is that if we stay at it then we can be confident that GOD is out there working things out in our behalf. again the story of job shows that.

james 5.11b (ms), you've heard, of course, of job's staying power, and you know how GOD brought it all together for him at the end. that's because GOD cares, cares right down to the last detail.

i love being able to know the whole story. i love to read and see what is happening all around the main person in the story. that is the way it is when we read about job. from his perspective, he had no idea what was going on but as we can see from our perspective as the reader, GOD knew and HE was working.

now here is a key when it comes to patience. a delay is not a denial. stef my daughter interviewed 3 times for a certain job and the last interviewer told her that they were going to get back to her and finally 3 days after they said they would get to her they called and told her she had the job. now from their perspective she had been hired they just hadn't told her but from her side she didn't know. so much of our life is like that.

another thing we need to learn is the difference between "no" and "not yet". and there is a big difference. ''come on, i wan't to know now.'' but sometimes we have to be patient. you see, GOD is at work, even when we don't see what's going on. and that was true in job's life, even when he didn't know, and he was asking, "why is this happening to me?"

listen, your hands may be tied and the situation may be out of control but it is not out of control from GOD's viewpoint.

would we ever have patience if we could see from GOD's viewpoint? of course we would but that is what patience is, striving to see life from GOD's viewpoint and trust HIM to take care of it.

james talked about the farmer. of how he breaks up the ground and then plants the seed and then does what? he waits for the seed to grow so that he then can harvest it. the farmer waits and GOD works.

philippians 2.13 (cev), GOD is working in you...

you may not see it but HE is.

romans 8.28 (ms), we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for GOD is worked into something good.

no matter what is happening in your life, GOD is at work. just be patient. no matter what the problem is you have this week, regardless of the problem you will go through (financial, relational, health) GOD is at work in that problem. so just be patient and trust HIM.

just some thoughts from the front porch...
