but i've messed up...

i’m going to do something a little different between CHRISTmas and new years starting today. i am going to go back and pick 7 of my favorite blogs from this past year and share them with you again. i hope this will be meaningful.

some of you in thinking about living out GOD’s plan for your life would say, “but bill, i’ve messed up. there is no way i can be what GOD created me to be. there’s no way i can live out what HIS plan is for my life. i messed up.” and i can understand that deep sense of hopelessness but that’s not the way it is. you still have a choice

so another question would be, can i get back on track after wasting years of my life? and the answer is absolutely. you can get back on track. psalm 33:11 (tev) says, HIS plans endure forever. HIS purposes last eternally.

that means that no matter what has happened in your life to date, GOD’s plan for your life has not changed.

some of you say, “but you don’t know about that moral blowout i had three years ago or ten years ago. you don’t know about that sin, that stupid decision i made where i took the wrong turn in life and wasted ten or twenty years or more. you don’t know.” and i say this: regardless of what has happened in your life up to this point, regardless – GOD has not given upon you. no matter what’s happened. even all those dumb, stupid decisions that you and i have made in the past.

listen, GOD has no plan b for my life. HE doesn't have a plan b for your life. “but what about my divorce/my abortion/this…” he does not have a plan b for your life! his purposes last eternally.

that is great news. for some of you that may be life changing new. i hope and pray that it is. just ask HIM to forgive you for your going it along without HIM and to forgive you for those areas where you messed up and HE will.

over in 1 john 1. 9 (ms) HE says, if we admit our sins - make a clean breast of them - HE won't let us down; HE'll be true to HIMself. HE'll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing.

why don't you start over today?

just a thought from the front porch…
