we are still looking at this matter of work and now looking at what GOD
has to say about job success.
now the wisest man who ever lived was a man named solomon. and he wrote two books of very practical
wisdom. one is called proverbs and the other
is called ecclesiastes. and it is very
interesting that in both of these very practical books, the church is never
mentioned but work is one of the major themes.
in fact, solomon says that you can tell the wisdom of a man, you can tell
how wise a person is by the way they approach their work.
the foundation for the subject of job success is in proverbs 16 verse 3 in
the living bible, commit your work to the LORD, then it will succeed.
now read with me proverbs 3.6 also in the living bible, in everything
you do, put GOD first, and HE will direct you and crown your efforts with
success.
that is the foundation for job success.
he said, put GOD first. ok then
how do you do that? you put GOD first by
applying biblical principles to your job.
first of all solomon would
say, if you want to win at your work, work with a purpose. work with a purpose, that’s the first
difference between successful and unsuccessful people.
you see, successful people have a purpose, they have a mission and without
this your work becomes a prison.
proverbs 17.24 in the good news says, an intelligent person aims
at wise actions, but a fool starts off in many directions.
do you know anybody like that? they
are going fifty different ways at once.
what he is saying is that regardless of what kind of job you have, you
should be moving toward a goal, you must have a direction.
just a thought from the front porch…
