if you want to win in your work you must keep learning and growing.
so where do you learn? let me give
you some sources.
#1. GOD’s word. proverbs 13.13
(msg) says , ignore the word and suffer;honor
GOD’s commands and grow rich.
#2. wise people. get around wise people. iron sharpens iron.
proverbs 15.22 (msg) says, refuse
good advice and watch your plans fail; take good counsel and watch them
succeed.
and here’s a third one that we often overlook. critics. learn from critics. proverbs 13.18 (nlt) says, if you ignore criticism, you will end in
poverty and disgrace; if you accept correction, you will be honored.
how many of you like to be criticized?
do you realize that you can learn from it?
#4. failure. failure is a great teaching tool. most of the time we learn more from failure
than we do success. proverbs 28.13 says
that a man who refuses to admit his mistakes will never prosper but if he
confesses them and forsakes them then he gets another chance.
so learn from your mistakes. folks,
never waist a failure. ok? never waist a failure. turn your failures into fertilizer for future
development and growth.
thomas edison said don’t call it a failure call it an education. when he was developing the light bulb he
said, “i now know that there are a 1,000 things that don’t work.” he tried them all before he got the right
one.
so grow and develop.
so evaluate yourself. what’s my
attitude toward learning?
now if your attitude is, well, you can’t teach an old dog a new trick, then
give yourself a one. if you’re saying,
i’m willing and open to learn, you get a five.
if you say, i actively look for new ideas to be a better person, to be
more skilled at my work, i look, i seek out new information to sharpen my life,
you get a ten.
never stop learning.
just a thought from the front porch…
