an attitdote for loneliness…

ephesians 3.17-18 (niv), i pray that you will grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of CHRIST.

GOD's love is wide enough to include everybody…GOD's love is long enough to last forever.

GOD's love is high enough to be everywhere

romans 8:39 (niv), neither height not depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of GOD that is in CHRIST JESUS our LORD.

there is no place that you can go where GOD's love isn't. you'll never be separated from GOD's love. nothing, no circumstance, no situation can separate you because GOD's love is everywhere.

if you want an antidote for loneliness, that's it. you will never be separated from GOD's love. the fact is we do lose loved ones. if you're married, one of you is going to die first. and you will grieve over that. but if you're a CHRISTian, you'll never be lonely, because you can tune into GOD's love. i'm not talking about religion, i'm talking about a relationship to JESUS CHRIST. HIS love lasts forever and HIS love is everywhere.

just a thought from the front porch…

Jesus said, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you". He proved that to me years ago and He's still with me. His love endures forever. Karen

I keep starting and stopping this comment...cause I don't want it to come out wrong.

What you write is right on--God's love is a great antidote for loneliness, but in practicality we human people frequently need someone with skin on to be with us. While the Christian is never really alone, sometimes a Christian needs another to come alongside to come against the times of loneliness in life.

Thus, as Christians we need to remember that we are the Body of Christ--His hands, His feet--and that often, WE are USED BY GOD to demonstrate that HE never leaves us or forsakes us and always loves us. Sometimes, we in the church are not very good at that--we say we'll pray for you, and provide NOTHING else for those who need His love. We desperately need to work on this as the church.

When people pray, sometimes WE are the answer to THEIR prayer.

that is so true. we are HIS hands and HIS feet and HIS mouths and HIS arms but it still starts with HIS love. apart from HIM we are all self-centered beings but with with HIS love inside of us we become the extention of HIS love. it still starts with the realization that HE loves us.
