the adventure of his lifetime…

in restoring the spirit of adventure the first principle is this, obey immediately.  obey GOD immediately even when i don’t understand it.

noah, in hebrews 11 verse 7 (gnt), it was by faith that made noah hear GOD’s warning about the things in the future that he could not see.  he obeyed GOD and built a boat in which he and his family were saved.  notice the words “saved” and  obeyed” because they go together.

imagine this, what if GOD came to you one day and said, “I don’t like the way the world’s going.  I think I’m going to start all over.  I’m going to flood it and start over with just your family.  you’re going to build this ship and I’ll bring all the animals and we’ll get on board together.  it’ll be the ride of your life!”  would you believe that?  don’t you think you might have some questions?  some doubts?  some considerations?  like “where are we going to put the termites?”

noah did not doubt, he did not complain, he did not argue, he did not delay.  he obeyed immediately even though he didn’t understand.  and he had the adventure of his lifetime, that’s for sure.

just a thought from the front porch…
