unbelievable opportunities are waiting...

why did GOD choose mary? one reason why i think is because she desired to do HIS’s will.

as we have seen, an angel one day shows up says to mary, "GOD's got this fantastic plan. HE's going to come to earth so we'll know what GOD's like. and you're not going to believe how HE's choosing to come. mary, HE's going to use your body."

now why did GOD choose that way of all the ways HE could have chosen to come to earth? why did HE come as a baby? here are two thoughts…

  1. because HE didn't want to frighten us. nobody's afraid of a baby. and
  2. because HE came into this world the same way that everybody else came into this world, as a baby so HE could relate to us and we could relate to HIM and HE would understand our feelings and we could understand that HE really did come and HE understood us.

look at mary's response in luke 1.46-48 (ncv), my soul praises the LORD, my heart rejoices in GOD my SAVIOR, because HE has shown HIS concern for HIS humble servant girl.

mary didn't say, "find somebody else!" when GOD says, "I want to use you," mary didn't say, "i've got a career to decide about... i've got my plans, my ambitions, my dreams... this really isn't convenient for my plan... i've got to think of what's best for me." she didn't say, "can't you get somebody else?" mary did not decline GOD's will, she wanted it. it says, my soul praises the LORD. she desired GOD's will for her life more than anything else.

you see, in the middle of her monotony the CREATOR invaded HIS obedient creation, mary and changed the world. and HE wants to do the same in our mundane monotony and HE will if we too desire HIS will in and through us. unbelievable opportunities are waiting to be done through those who desire GOD’s will for their lives.

just a thought from the front porch…
