it destroys your life…

you know when you blame someone else?  have you noticed that the word blame is be lame.  be lame.  when you are blaming others you are being lame.

now notice what the bible says.  proverbs 14.23 (niv),  all hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

do you know some people who are great talkers but they have no action.  they are all smoke and mirrors.  they have great plans but he says, talk brings poverty.   the price for procrastination is enormous.

ecclesiastes 5.7 in the living bible, dreaming instead of doing is foolishness.

a father said to his teenage son, son, you need to do one hard thing every day.  the son said, “dad, i get out of bed.”  he then said, “then make it two.  make it two.”

dreaming instead of doing is foolishness.  lazy people live in a fantasy world.  they are always looking at tomorrow.  they are always dreaming, fantasizing.  never facing reality, today.

you know don't you, that tv is packaged fantasy.  that is what it is, packaged fantasy.  you used to have to go to sleep to dream, now all you have to do is turn on the tv and escape from reality.

you can turn on the tv and watch on the hgtv channel all about different people’s dream homes.  tv is packaged dreams.  it is packaged fantasy.

proverbs 13.4 in the living bible, lazy people want much more but get little, while the diligent are prospering.

have you ever heard anybody say, i’m just waiting for my ship to come in? have you ever heard that one?  don’t you ever want to say to them, then why don’t you just swim out to it, bud?  quit waiting for it to come in, get out there and get it in gear and move it.

i could have given you 40 or 50 verses here in proverbs just on this one point.  what he basically is saying is that laziness destroys your life, it straps you of energy.  don’t make excuses.  accept responsibility for who you are, if you want to be a winner.

so evaluate yourself.  how often do i excuse my behavior?  frequently, then give yourself a one, sometimes, a five, never, never make excuses, give yourself a ten.

just a thought from the front porch…
