some thoughts from romans 8.28…

romans 8.28 (nlt), we know that GOD causes everything to work together for the good of those who love GOD and are called according to HIS purpose for them.,  let’s take it a part phrase by phrase.

notice first it says, we know that GOD causes everything to work together for good.  notice, “we know”.  that means we don’t hope, we don’t wish, we don’t imagine, we don’t desire, we don’t guess.  we have absolute confidence that what he’s about to say is true.  we know.  certainty.

what do we know?  we know that GOD causes everything to work together for good.  next the phrase, “GOD causes”.  there is a grand design behind it all.  your life is not a result of fate.  it is not some random chance.  it doesn’t just happen.  there’s no such thing as bad luck or good luck.  that it just happened.  that i just got lucky.  there is a grand design behind it all.  so there is a cause.  it doesn’t say GOD causes evil.  it says HE causes things to work together for good.  

you say, but don’t we make mistakes?  of course we make mistakes.  but GOD doesn’t.  GOD doesn’t ever make any mistakes.  we know that GOD causes all things to work together for good.  notice,  “everything.” 

what’s included in everything?  all things!  does that include illness?  yes.  does that include marriage problems?  yes.  does that include bankruptcy?  yes.  does that include divorce?  yes.  does that include a loss of a loved one?  yes.  does that include an accident?  yes.  does that include my mistakes?  yes.   everything.  GOD fits it all together.
