Anger out of control is very destructive in your
relationships. But anger in control is
an asset. So it is important to know how
to manage your anger.
Proverbs 16:32 (LB) says,
"It is better to be slow-tempered than famous; it is better to have self-control than to control an army."
Listen quit saying that I can't control my anger and
start believing that I can control it.
Quit making excuses and accept responsibility.
You have far more control over your anger than you
think you do.
The key is that it's difficult to control your anger
while you're angry because you get this adrenalin rush and you can't control
it. It just seems to be overpowering,
the chemical reaction in your body. The
key is to resolve to manage it. You
decide in advance before you get angry how you're going to handle it. Unless you learn how to do this, you're never
going to have healthy relationships.
Just a thought from the front porch…

Thanks for this reminder, Bill, indeed a man who can handle anger is likened to one who can control an army of soldiers. Sounds illogical at first when one's impulse is to strike back to save face especially when in a confrontation in the midst of a crowd.. but in the very end when the issue has died down - people who saw your silence and who saw how you held your peace, will commend you for your resilience. When that happens, all I say is thank you... to God be the glory!
So true, so very true!
