a bigger idea…

when you rely on the word of GOD you don’t panic when you hit a dead-end because you know it’s out of your control but it’s not out of GOD’s control.

a dead-end is a test of your faith.  hebrews 11.17 (tlb), while GOD was testing him, abraham still trusted in GOD and HIS promises, so he offered his son isaac.

GOD said HE wanted abraham to sacrifice HIS son and abraham didn’t blink an eye.  he didn’t panic because he remembered what GOD can do and he relied on what GOD had promised him.  abraham actually expected GOD to raise his son back to life.

when they were walking up the hill to make the sacrifice, abraham said to the servants, “we’ll be back.”  his son asked him “where’s the sacrifice?”  abraham said, “the LORD will provide.”

what happens when GOD takes your most precious dream and wants you to give it up?  can you do that in faith?  you’re at a dead-end.  and GOD’s going to deliver you if you make the right answer.  abraham said he would do whatever GOD said.  GOD said, “I was just testing you.”

romans 4.18 (jb), though it seemed abraham's hope could not be fulfilled he did become the father of many nations exactly as GOD had promised.

some of you are at a dead-end now and it seems there is no way out.  things are never as bleak as they seem.  you’re looking at it from human viewpoint rather than from GOD’s viewpoint.  it’s all in the way you look at it.

the disciples have followed JESUS for three years and all of a sudden HE’s hanging on a cross.  and HE dies.  they were in despair and at a dead-end.  they didn’t know what to do.  from their viewpoint it seemed that their whole world had crashed down around them.  easter was only three days away and GOD had a bigger idea.  HE had a bigger plan.  GOD brings to life those things that are dead.  that’s a miracle.

just a thought from the front porch…

Matthew 6: 25-34 "Therefore I tell you: Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what to wear. Is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of heaven: do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by more than worrying can add a single hour to his life? Why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field. They neither work nor weave. However, I tell you that even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like a deles.Se God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, not much more clothe you, men little faith? So do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? Or shall we drink? Or what shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. "
