act as if…

if you’re a parent, tomorrow after work, when you’re tired, when you’re fatigued, when you’re stressed and you want to walk into the house and maybe you don’t want to play with your kids or talk to your spouse.  you just want to go in and say, “don’t bug me!”  maybe what you do is set in the driveway for a minute and admit, “GOD, i feel really weak right now.  i’m really tired.  but i’m going to go in the house and i’m going to act as if i had YOUr power and YOUr strength and YOUr energy and love my kids the way i know YOU want them loved because YOU’ve entrusted their care to me.  i’m going to go in and treat my spouse the way i know YOU want me to treat him/her.  and i’m going to expect YOUr power along the way.”

isaiah 40.31 (niv), those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.  they will soar on wings like eagles.  they will run and not grow weary.

here’s a paraphrase, “those who choose GOD’s way will find power.  they will play with their kids and not be weary.”  we do the possible with faith that GOD will do the impossible.  that’s the way it works.  we do the possible with faith that GOD will do the impossible.

let’s say your marriage has lost its romance.  you do the possible.  you treat your spouse, as you know GOD would want them to be treated.  you do the possible with faith that GOD will bring his power and restore that marriage – the impossible.

just a thought from the front porch…

if consciously you give your all every day and you are still criticized by others, family members per say, how do u continue to them as it is shown in god's will? Continuous battering and not living up to what they expect from u, how do u push forth? What if taking college classes additional to working and being the mom and spouse your supposed is draining? your spouse doesn't support his family on many levels and your all is almost gone.....how do u replace the romance?

it is true that some people are truely unpleaseable. there is nothing that we can do in our own power to please them. but GOD through HIS power will give you strength in those very difficult relationships and lead you to someone who will help you. the problem is in them.
